In Korean (South) their own popular music is called Gayo (가요), internationally it's called simply K-pop. These days, K-pop is popular in whole Asia including Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and even in South East Asia because of the Korean Wave called "Hallyu", which is a popular success of Korean entertainment contents including music, television & cinema movies, TV shows etc. from Korea.
